Spotlight: Nine course wins to his name from 22 starts here (3-7 over C&D); in good form of late, having spent last year in the grip of the handicapper, but that was over 7f and whether he still has the toe for 5f, at his age off this mark, is the question; yard also runs Woohoo.

Spotlight: C&D winner who boasts a good record at this time of year; will always be reliant on some luck given his hold-up style, which he hasn't had this year; on a handy mark when things do fall his way again, though, and is one to consider.

Spotlight: Turf wins as a 2yo came on soft/heavy ground and the midweek rain will have helped, although he'd have preferred more; highly consistent but a 2lb rise for his recent AW win puts him on a career-high mark into a more competitive handicap, down from 6f.

Spotlight: His two wins came on good to soft ground over 6f, including here off this mark last June; entitled to have needed his recent comeback from nine months off, when leading for a long way, and he's low mileage compared to most of these; first run over 5f.

Spotlight: Wins have all come over easy tracks in the spring/autumn on good or softer ground; won well at Ripon last weekend but was always well positioned from the rail draw and a 6lb rise looks plenty as he goes back up in class.

Spotlight: May have needed his recent comeback from six months off at his age (cracked late on having raced prominently from a low stall over 6f round Chester); 2lb below his last successful mark and has won here before but David Allan has opted for Vince L'Amour.

Spotlight: Inconsistent front-runner who's given a third try in a tongue-tie following a below-par effort back on turf last time (made much of the running from the rail draw at Musselburgh); on a competitive mark if he's on a going day though.

Spotlight: Most wins have come on the AW but he is fine on turf (2-11) and turned in another in-form effort at Nottingham three weeks ago; there's little wiggle room off this mark (3lb above his highest successful rating) and he'll need a career best if he's to win.

Spotlight: As good as ever on Tapeta lately, albeit turned over as favourite on last two outings; returns to turf 3lb above his highest winning mark and at the age of seven (no surprise to see Rhys Elliott up to take off 5lb) and he will need to get things bang on.

Spotlight: Looked flattered from the front in a small field on his handicap debut last July, since when he's struggled; well held on his Southwell comeback (won his novice on Tapeta) early last month and may need some help from the handicapper.

Spotlight: Progressive in lesser company last summer, when completing a hat-trick, latterly off 6lb lower; excuses subsequently, including when getting upset in the stalls (not for the first time) on his comeback behind two of these three weeks ago.

Spotlight: Found a Newcastle handicap run to suit when winning over this trip in January but has otherwise done most racing over further; the early impact of the visor may have worn off now and he was inclined to pull hard when well held back on turf a month ago.
