Spotlight: Made debut last May and all six runs were on good ground; maiden winner here who was increasingly competitive coming from behind in his three handicaps, winning in first-time cheekpieces from Ride The Thunder at Haydock (1m6f) in September when last seen; up 7lb, back slightly in trip and no headgear, but he's still one to note.

Spotlight: Won 1m2f Nottingham maiden last June; on the premises in all his three handicaps, closest last time when he came from the back at Haydock (1m6f, good) but to not quite such good effect in the end as Valiancy who made the same move on the other side of the track; gelded since and hooded first time for this reappearance; up 4lb but looks a serious contender.

Spotlight: Just five Flat races, faring easily best when he won a handicap at Bellewstown (1m3f, soft) last month; returned to hurdling for a respectable show at Punchestown festival 19 days ago; his trainer's three runners at Chester last week were all well held, albeit with two in the Chester Cup, but this one should have more to offer in this sphere and goes on the shortlist.

Spotlight: Had three 1m4f wins last summer and better than ever when she took a six-runner race at Doncaster (1m4f, good to firm) in clearcut style on reappearance three weeks ago, leading over 1f out; up 5lb and she was well held in this higher grade last term, but she is in serious calculations nevertheless.

Spotlight: Front-runner who was progressive last year (over 1m6f, 1m5f here and 2m) and finished either first or second in all five of those races, but he wasn't seen after July; a shorter break (178 days) didn't prevent a win first time out last term and he should be retained in serious calculations.

Spotlight: Six wins (latest in February) from 24 AW starts but 0-10 on turf; Newmarket 15 days ago saw first turf race since 2023 and he came last of eight.

Spotlight: 4-15 for David Simcock; absent for 582 days before having two runs for new yard this spring, runs which showed that significant ability remains but he needs to build on those performances.

Spotlight: Industrious and dependable sort over 1m6f-2m2f but his turf strike-rate is just 1-18 and return to turf last time saw him well held.

Spotlight: Often ridden by Lauren Young; 4-12 at Musselburgh, including three 1m6f/2m wins on good ground last May-October; also scored at Nottingham in October, a runaway win over 2m2f on heavy going which sees him 2lb higher today; returned to form when third over 2m at Musselburgh three weeks ago but this C&D makes him look vulnerable.

Spotlight: Useful in France, finishing third in a Listed race last season (1m4f, good to soft); changed hands for 45,000gns in October but well beaten on stable debut at Pontefract (1m2f; 8-1) last month when making the running in his usual hood; tongue tied last year but not this term; others look more solid.

Spotlight: Easily best known at Hamilton where he's 6-20, including two wins last summer; competitive if he returns in last season's peak form but he's needed at least his first run back in previous seasons.

Spotlight: Strong finish from the rear secured the Chester Plate (2m2f, good) last May off 1lb higher than today and he also won over 1m4f on soft at Catterick in October; needs to leave his three efforts this season a long way behind him, latest when not faring nearly so well with the draw back in Chester Plate, and others have more pressing claims.
